Yoga for Lymphatic and Chronic pain
The lymphatic system is responsible for removing waste products from the body's tissues, if the lymphatic system is not functioning properly, these inflammatory substances can build up over time, leading to ongoing inflammation and discomfort. This chronic inflammation can worsen pain by activating pain receptors and sensitizing the nervous system even further. Therefore, managing lymphatic dysfunction and addressing any potential lymphatic blockages can be critically important for effectively managing chronic pain. Treatments like manual lymphatic drainage and gentle yoga movements can significantly help to improve lymphatic flow and reduce unwanted fluid buildup, leading to a better quality of life.
**It's important for individuals with lymphatic issues and/or chronic pain to consult with healthcare professionals before beginning a yoga practice to ensure that the exercises are safe and suitable for your specific condition. With the right guidance and modifications, yoga can become a valuable tool in maintaining mobility and improving quality of life.

Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga uses gentle, floor-based poses to restore, heal, stretch, and effectively destress both the body and mind while also nurturing the soul. This practice is incredibly beneficial for individuals of all body types, making it accessible for everyone, from beginners to those dealing with existing joint issues and injuries. By holding these therapeutic and prop-supported poses, you will gently open the thicker layers of connective tissues surrounding your joints, gradually unravelling areas of tension that a more dynamic yoga practice might not be able to reach.
Yin Yoga is particularly helpful in slowing down the nervous system, allowing you to truly connect with your mind, body, and soul in a profound way. Each week, our sessions will focus on a different theme that addresses both physical and mental aspects of well-being. This practice specifically targets your deep connective fascia tissues and ligaments, creating a slower, more meditative experience that gives you ample space to turn inward and tune into the various mental and physical sensations your body is experiencing. In Yin Yoga, you will hold poses for a longer duration, sometimes up to 3 or even 5 minutes, which not only helps to stretch and stress the tissues but also teaches you how to breathe through moments of discomfort and embrace the opportunity to sit with your thoughts and feelings.
Attendees are welcome to bring additional props if desired. Comfy clothes essential. -

Triple Burner
The triple burner channel starts at the tip of the fourth finger and moves up through the forearm and elbow to the shoulder. It connects to the small intestine and rises over the shoulder to the collarbone. It then goes internally to the heart area and down to the abdomen. It surfaces again at the chest and moves toward the head and face. The Triple Burner meridian controls the flow of solids and fluids in the body and helps regulate vital energy (Qi). It is not an organ but an energy system that supports other organs.
There are three parts:
Upper Burner protects the heart and lungs and aids in breathing.
Middle Burner safeguards the stomach, spleen, and pancreas, distributing energy from food.
Lower Burner helps separate good from bad digested food and balances the liver, kidneys, bladder, intestines, and reproductive organs.

Energetic Body
Yogic philosophy teaches that our bodies are made up of physical matter and energy fields that flow around and through us. These energy channels, called nadis, carry life force energy called prana. There are seven main energy centers, or chakras, where these channels meet. Each chakra relates to different emotions, behaviors, and bodily systems. When energy is blocked in a chakra due to unhealthy habits or outside influences, it can cause imbalances that lead to physical, mental, or emotional issues. The goal of chakra yoga is to unblock these energy centers, promoting a flow of energy that brings balance and peace. In class, I will focus on one chakra to understand its influence on our body and how specific yoga poses can help restore balance.

Yang & Yin
Yin-Yang yoga beautifully combines the numerous benefits of both yin and yang styles of yoga to create a truly balanced and enriching practice. It incorporates dynamic, warming poses (yang) designed to build strength, endurance, and flexibility, followed by restorative, long-held poses (yin) that help to quiet the mind and gently open the body. This thoughtful fusion approach aims to balance the opposing energies within the body, promoting a profound sense of harmony, stability, and overall well-being.
